Abilene Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) has, unfortunately, become a bit of a byword for anyone ho doesn’t really want to take responsibility for their emotions or their actions. And those of us who suffer from it, know that is definitely not the case.
Abilene: we are joined by the always intriguing, ever-epic Dr. John A. King to talk about the controversial topic of child sex abuse, human trafficking and more in this power-packed transmission. Dr. King, a PTSD survivor and victim of sexual abuse himself, has dedicated his life to helping heal the brokenhearted and rescuing those who cannot save themselves! I wrote this piece of poetry after touring with a documentary on human trafficking that featured my story called, Stopping Traffic. At every show, I was confronted with questions bordering on accusations that sexual abuse and rape and human trafficking doesn’t happen to boys and men in places like Abilene.
One of the primary reasons my first marriage broke down and why my second marriage is so successful, is NOT because I have fully recovered from PTSD, but because of how Melissa and I dealt with it as a couple. This is very important for PTSD caregivers in Abilene to know.
